 Computer Frustrations!!

posted by admin on June 22, 2009 9:40 PM as General

I have the nicest computer tech who has come to my house so many times in the past 2 weeks that we are starting to think of him almost like family! So, Loc was here today and once again something in my new computer fried the replacement parts as soon as it was turned on. (Not that I know all about computers but, Dell has sent out 4 motherboards, 3 hard drives, 3 DVD/CD drives and numerous other parts that I won't bother naming.)  I have resigned myself to the fact that I am going to have to accept a refurbished computer to replace the NEW computer that has had issues since it was unboxed. Hopefully, it will work like a dream and I won't be able to tell that it isn't NEW.....at least I know it won't take much for it to work better than the new one that I have! lol

 Sewing Event

posted by georgie on June 20, 2009 10:30 PM as Sewing

Hello All,
I just finished spending a few days in Arlington, TX with many wonderful sewing friends, old and new! I was able to share my book and sewing curriculum at Martha's Sewing Market in Texas. Visiting with others who love to sew as much as I do is always a joy. To all my new sewing friends, keep in touch and let me know what wonderful projects you are working on.

I head home in the morning and will give the Sew Educated Online Classroom my undivided attention for the next week and a half...I can't believe we get to start sewing together in just 10 days!

It is late and has been a LONG week! Later, Georgie

 Check It Out!

php/check it out b.jpg

I have just added a new pattern to the sewing page. It turned out cuter in real life than it was in my mind! So, let me tell you about it. It is a checkerboard with checkers made out of fabric yo-yo's. It also has a cord that ties everything up in a neat little bundle! Cute! Cute! Cute! I did find that the Large Clover Yo-Yo Maker was the perfect size for the checkers. It sure was easier with the yo-yo maker than doing it the way grandma taught me! Now, I also made some checkers with milk caps inside the yo-yo's and found that the Yo-Yo maker didn't work with the milk caps. I did have to make the circles a little larger than indicated on the pattern to allow for the thickness of the milk caps but they really turned out cute! If you have milk drinkers in ...

 Mitchell is in the States!

posted by admin on December 23, 2008 12:00 AM as Family

Mitchell made it back to Florida today! Even though we won't be able to see our baby for a few more weeks, it is so nice to have him back on American soil. At this point I am unsure how busy he will be on a daily basis with the post-deployment stuff but I am sure I will be able to talk to him on a regular basis (as soon as Sprint gets that phone back on). Thanks for all the prayers! My baby is home! Georgie

 Sewing with a Friend!

posted by admin on December 22, 2008 4:32 PM as General

Today a dear friend of mine, Kelly, came over and we spent the day sewing. I have a long standing rule in my house: If you want me to sew for you, you have to set and visit with me while I sew! This is a win/win plan. I get to sew and talk with friends and/or family at the same time. Kelly had some Christmas gifts that she wanted monogrammed. So, while the embroidery machine did all the work, Kelly and I had time to spend talking about my new favorite topic....my book, 'Ready, Set, Serge'. Kelly a big thanks to you for sharing in my excitement over the book!
