You can easily create wired ribbon from the fabric of your choice on your serger. This is a technique that is covered in my book 'Ready, Set, Serge' but I will give you a quick lesson here. If you have a presser foot that has a wire guide, you will use that foot. (In the picture I used a red wire in the foot in hopes that you would better be able to see where the guide holes are located on the foot.) I do not have a foot with a wire guide for my old White serger but the wire guide is in the 'elastic foot' for my Baby Lock serger. So the first step is to find out if you have a wire guide foot. Next, you will set your serger for a rolled hem, thread the wire through the wire guide and stitch over the wire. Easy as that! Take care to keep the wire to the right of the needle and away from the cutting blade. For those of you enrolled in the online classroom, I will get a video of this uploaded, both with a presser foot and without. Later
Georgie
